Our client, a long-standing Credit Union in Brandon, Manitoba is looking for an experienced Manager, Human Resources to join its team. This business started over 50  years ago and currently serves over 38,000 clients at 17 branches throughout Manitoba. The Manager of Human Resources will oversee a team of 5 Human Resource professionals and direct employee relations, engagement, and the people strategy. Someone with experience aligning HR polices and process with technology would do well. This culture is about change and how they can make their organization the best in the business through service to their members and employees.  This Credit Union is community focused and supports local interests and businesses. Someone who is socially responsible with a great communication style would fit well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the employee relations, employee engagement, and people strategy
  • Coach to internal personnel (both direct reports and other employees) and drive initiatives to help support business growth.
  • Manage and execute talent development programs, initiatives, and projects to grow employees
  • Align tools and processes with Human Resource technology and provide access and ease of use across the organization.
  • Leverage Talent Development data to inform HR strategy, especially succession planning.
  • Building and support a diverse and inclusive mandate that matters.


  • 5 to 7 years of progressive human resources experience is a must. At least 3 years’ experience in a HR Manager role is required.
  • Must have experience and proven track record in total rewards and change management
  • Up to date on HR trends, market changes and a passion for Human Resource Changes
  • Positive attitude, high-energy individual who likes variety and is task orientated
  • Ability to work and thrive within a changing environment
  • Ability to have tough conversations that come with leading HR that is aligned to the business
  • CPHR designation is preferred but not required
  • Must live in or be willing to relocate to Brandon, MB. 
  • Previous work experience in a Financial Institution is an asset
