THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join an entrepreneurial laundry, dry cleaning and restoration company based in Edmonton. Reporting to the President, the Operations Manager will oversee the retail operations and will be instrumental in driving solutions and policy compliance that adds value to the organization and are aligned with business objectives.  The successful candidate will have a solid background in process development and procedure implementation, possess strong leadership qualities, and have a passion to grow the business and develop people along the way.  This is an amazing company that is technology driven, innovative and a leader in their field.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the production cycle, allocating and overseeing the team to ensure the flow of work meets operational and customer deadlines.
  • Provide quick responses to changing schedules and production issues.
  • Ensure all required materials are ordered and the inventory is managed effectively.
  • Provide information, analysis and reporting as requested.
  • Develop, review, and update standard operating procedures as required.
  • With a continuous improvement mindset, make recommendations for the efficient operations of each area.
  • Providing effective leadership and direction to hourly employees through coaching, strong communication skills and effective management of issues and concerns.
  • Ensure all new employees receive appropriate orientation, continuous training, and development.
  • Ensure a safe work environment through strong OH&S knowledge and compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Mentor Lead Hands and support their development.
  • Manage employee feedback constructively, promoting employee engagement and a positive culture.
  • Keeping cleanliness and organization of the production facility as daily priorities.
  • Creates a sense of value and belonging by promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Align with company vision and values; leading by example as well as helping to foster a positive work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma with an emphasis on business management and 5+ years’ experience of process and supervision experience; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Proven experience in and ability to manage workforce within company policies and guidelines.
  • Previous experience in a process-oriented role with ability to follow through.
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and other Microsoft programs.
  • Proficient with computerized systems.
  • Previous experience in sop creation and documentation would be an asset.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours as required.
  • Able to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination status.
